Commodity Strategy Leader

Brief Role Description Supports the Buying team in ensuring that all items and services are purchased at the best price with due regard to quality, delivery and sustainability in accordance with all applicable laws and due consideration of the purchasing procedures. Provides strategic and problem-solving input into the Commodity, relating to suppliers, material groups, sourcing, presentations, and negotiations both locally, and across brands and regions. Aligns with the other CSL’s within Purchasing. Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders including suppliers, internal customers, and cross-functional teams. Collaborates with other functions such as Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure that purchasing decisions align with overall business objectives. Provides input into the development of commodity strategies, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. Supports the development of procurement plans, ensuring that they are aligned with business requirements and take into account factors such as market trends, supplier capabilities, and regulatory requirements. Develops and maintains a deep understanding of the market, including trends, risks, and opportunities. Provides expert advice to stakeholders on commodity-related matters, including sourcing strategies, contract negotiations, and supply chain risk management. Identifies and mitigates potential risks associated with procurement activities, ensuring that they are aligned with company risk tolerance. Supports the development of procurement policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring that they are aligned with company goals and objectives. Provides input into the development of procurement metrics and KPIs, ensuring that they are aligned with business requirements. Develops and maintains a deep understanding of the company’s procurement processes, including procurement systems, tools, and technologies. Provides expert advice to stakeholders on procurement-related matters, including procurement systems, tools, and technologies.
