Position: Commissioning Engineer

Role description

The resource will be responsible for commissioning and start-up activities of machines and systems at end clients, ensuring their correct startup and required performance. The individual will be involved from the internal testing phases, participating in tests with the client to gain in-depth knowledge of the solution and serve as a point of reference during all subsequent installation and start-up activities. Since internal test environments do not always allow for complete replication of clients' real operational scenarios, the Commissioning Engineer will be called upon to manage optimization, troubleshooting, and fine-tuning activities directly in the field.

Main responsibilities

• Participate in internal tests (FAT) with the client.
• Gain in-depth knowledge of the developed machines and systems.
• Perform startup and commissioning activities at client sites.
• Carry out troubleshooting and performance optimization interventions in the operational environment.
• Liaise with the client during all commissioning phases.
• Collaborate with automation and software development teams for the implementation of modifications and improvements.
• Ensure the achievement of required performance and the correct system release.

Technical requirements

Experience in commissioning and start-up activities of automatic machines or complex systems.

• Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial automation logic.
• Software development and system integration skills.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python and/or C++.
• Familiarity with machine management, virtual machines (VMs), and communication flows between different system components.
• Knowledge of ROS/ROS2.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills in the field.

Availability

• Availability for travel up to 85% of the time.
• Operation at clients distributed mainly in Europe and the Americas.
• Stays abroad with an indicative duration of 2-3 months per project.

• What we offer:The salary for this role is between €50,000 and €60,000.

The position is classified under the CCNL Commercio e Terziario applied by our company. The placement within the range will be defined based on technical skills, specific experience in the role, and the outcomes of the selection process, according to objective and neutral criteria. In the presence of profiles with exceptional characteristics compared to the indicated range, a review may be considered subject to internal approval.
