With a reputation for innovation, sustainability, and delivering high-quality products to the civil engineering, construction, and retail sectors, they are expanding operations and seeking a dynamic commercial leader to shape their growth strategy and market presence.
Role Overview
As Commercial Manager, you will oversee all commercial operations. This includes managing sales performance, driving revenue growth, and strengthening client relationships. Reporting directly to the Director, youll lead a team, influence strategic decision-making, and ensure operational and financial success in a competitive market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead commercial strategies for aggregates sales, including pricing, tenders, and contract negotiations.
- Manage and mentor a high-performance sales and commercial team.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships in construction, civils, retail, and infrastructure projects.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for expansion (focus on the Eastern Cape region).
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and commercial reporting for the division.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and sustainability objectives.
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to optimize delivery, efficiency, and product quality.
- Drive innovation in product offerings (e.g., bricks, readymix solutions) to meet evolving customer demands.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Business, Management, or related field (advanced qualifications such as Stellenbosch Business School highly advantageous).
- 7+ years experience in commercial management within aggregates, mining, or construction materials.
- Strong track record in sales management, client engagement, and strategic growth.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and CRM systems.
- Commitment to sustainability and ethical business practices.
- Willingness to travel within the region as required.
