Do you want to play an important role in a new transdisciplinary University Research Centre that will deliver creative and innovative solutions to realise opportunities, needs, and concerns identified by older people, to improve health, wellbeing, and human flourishing?

We have a fixed term vacancy for a highly organised and motivated individual to work with the Directors as the Commercial Engagement and Research Development Coordinator in the Centre for Co-Created Ageing Research (CCREATE-AGE) team. Hīkina kia tutuki - rise to meet the challenge

At the Centre for Co-Created Ageing Research (CCREATE-AGE) we have a fixed term vacancy for a highly organised and motivated individual to work with the Directors as the Commercial Engagement and Research Development Coordinator. This is an important role within a team that is further developing a transdisciplinary centre to deliver creative and innovative solutions to realise opportunities, needs, and concerns identified by older people, to improve health, wellbeing, and human flourishing.

As the CCREATE-AGE Commercial Engagement and Research Development Coordinator you will lead the development of external stakeholder relationships in private and public sector, nurture industrial relationships and act as conduit between industries and academic communities for CCREATE-AGE. The postholder would support CCREATE-AGE in developing relationships within the sector and developing a sustainable financial model, securing Business Enterprise Expenditure on R&D and philanthropic funding for a new Daily Living Facility, including securing written support from future potential users of this space. The postholder would be expected to work closely with the Faculty of Engineering, the Newmarket Innovation Precinct (NIP) industry engagement programme and the Newmarket Interest Group to ensure the development of a collaborative space and Daily Living Lab meet the University’s vision for Newmarket (i.e. provides a space where industry and community, research and education collide, a campus that is welcoming to the public and has a vibrant culture and approach). The postholder will be fully committed to CCREATE-AGE philosophy and ethos of co-creation with older people and other stakeholders.

CCREATE-AGE has a strong focus on tackling ageism and addressing inequity. A clear understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and our obligations together with understanding diverse Pasifika communities are essential in order to walk alongside Māori and Pacific communities as equitable partners.

This position is fixed term, part time .2FTE (7.5 hours per week) role up to June 2026.

Remuneration: $72,000 - $88,900 pro rata dependent on experience
