Collections Team Leader

Therefore, we are looking for a natural leader to coach our collections team in Berchem.

The Team Leader reports to the Collections Manager & plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our daily activities.

The job holder is responsible for leading and guiding a team of collection workers, ensuring effective/efficient recovery of outstanding claims & helping the team achieve its most important performance targets.
The ideal candidate is a pragmatic + result-oriented leader with extensive experience in collections & determined to maintain a high level of customer service.

Tasks:

• Provide guidance and support to the collection team in handling incoming/outgoing phone calls, ensuring that company policy & legal requirements are complied with
• Maintain performance monitoring, coaching, and feedback to help team members achieve their targets & maintain a high level of customer service
• Help develop and implement strategies to optimize the collection process & improve team productivity
• Prepare and keep daily, weekly, monthly performance reports for the Collection Manager
• Serve as the first point of contact for complex matters & provide solutions/advice to the team
• Ensure compliance with quality & audit standards within the collection team
• Identify training & development needs within the team and collaborate with the Collections Manager to implement suitable training programs
• Collaborate with the collections manager to identify process improvements & automation opportunities within the collection function
• Promote a positive & motivating work environment within the team by stimulating a culture of responsibility & continuous improvement
