Location: Various locations across British Columbia As a Code Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing local codes, investigating complaints, and conducting inspections to ensure compliance with local regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, reviewing and interpreting codes, ordinances, and regulations, identifying and addressing potential hazards, and providing education and guidance to the public. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and detailed records of all inspections, investigations, and enforcement activities. In addition, you will be expected to work effectively with other departments, such as Planning, Building, and Engineering, to ensure a comprehensive approach to code enforcement. You will also be required to stay up-to-date with changes in local, provincial, and federal regulations, and to apply this knowledge in your work. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of local government and the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. You will also be expected to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
