Code 14 Driver with Hazchem

We are seeking a reliable and responsible Code 14 Driver with Hazchem experience to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of hazardous materials, goods, equipment, documents, or staff as required. The driver must have excellent knowledge of Port Elizabeth and surrounding areas, a strong understanding of hazardous goods handling and transportation requirements, a strong sense of responsibility, and a professional approach to customer service.

• Safely operate Code 14 vehicles in accordance with traffic laws, company policies, and applicable hazardous goods regulations.
• Transport and deliver hazardous materials and other goods safely and efficiently.
• Ensure hazardous goods are correctly secured, labelled, documented, and transported in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Complete delivery notes, trip sheets, logbooks, hazardous goods documentation, and other required documentation.
• Ensure vehicles are kept clean, secure, and in good working condition.
• Plan routes efficiently and comply with designated routes and safety requirements for hazardous goods transportation.
• Load and unload goods safely and in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Follow all emergency procedures relating to spills, leaks, accidents, or hazardous material incidents.
• Maintain professional communication with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
• Report accidents, incidents, delays, breakdowns, or vehicle-related problems immediately.
• Ensure all company property and goods transported are handled responsibly.
• Perform general driving and related duties as assigned.

• Must be a South African Citizen.
• Minimum Grade 10 qualification.
• Valid Code 14 / EC Driver's Licence.
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Valid Hazchem / Dangerous Goods certification or experience will be required, depending on the vehicle and hazardous materials transported.
• Minimum 2 years' driving experience preferred.
• Previous Hazchem / dangerous goods driving experience will be advantageous.
• Clear criminal record.
• Must have contactable references.
• Good knowledge of Port Elizabeth and surrounding areas.
• Clean and responsible driving record.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
• Must be physically fit and able to assist with loading and unloading when required.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and hazardous goods handling procedures.
