About the role We are looking for an experienced Senior COBOL / Mainframe Developer to join an international technology team supporting digital solutions within a global custodian banking environment. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional technology teams and business stakeholders across the full software development lifecycle — from analysis and development to testing, implementation, and ongoing improvements. You will contribute to the evolution and stability of business-critical applications supporting the bank’s digital channels and operational processes. This is a fully remote opportunity open to candidates located within the European Union. Responsibilities Design, develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, development, testing, deployment, and support Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business users to deliver reliable and scalable solutions Troubleshoot and resolve production and application issues Ensure high quality and stability of delivered solutions Contribute to modernization and continuous improvement initiatives within the application landscape Requirements Strong hands-on experience with: COBOL DB2 IMS JCL OPC / scheduling tools Experience working in enterprise-scale environments Good understanding of software development lifecycle and production support processes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Good communication and collaboration skills Fluency in English What we offer Fully remote work within the EU Long-term cooperation in an international banking environment Opportunity to work on large-scale, business-critical systems Collaborative and stable project environment Flexible working model
