Co-Founder / CTO (m/w/d)

We are building a digital, living memory space – a place where people can remember deceased loved ones in the long term or hold onto cherished moments from their lifetime. Not static, not dusty, but as colorful and diverse as life itself.

We're looking for you as a technical co-founder – someone who doesn't just write code, but builds a product together with us that people really need.

Tasks

You are the technical soul of mount memory. You build the product from scratch, oversee the architecture, and ensure our platform runs stably, scalable, and securely. Since we work with sensitive data – memories, voices, personal stories – data protection takes on special importance at our company. You will be responsible for this and actively shape how we implement it technically and ethically.

Qualification

The most important thing first: you want to rethink the theme of death and remembrance in a modern, human, and technological way.

What you bring

Technically:

• Fundamental experience in software development (Full Stack, Backend, or platform-oriented)
• Knowledge of common programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, JavaScript/Node.js, React) and databases (SQL)
• Understanding of modern cloud architectures and infrastructure
• Experience with or genuine enthusiasm for the use of AI in products – responsibly and meaningfully implemented
• Basic understanding of security standards and stable platform building

• You think strategically and can put technology at the service of user needs
• You are emotionally resilient and open to a product around grief and loss
• You communicate clearly – in German and/or English

We don't offer an apple basket or fixed salary – instead, you'll have a genuine co-founder role with company involvement. You work flexibly, from wherever and whenever it suits you, with a focus on the Upper Palatinate region and regular personal meetings. You start not at zero: prototype and initial code pieces are already in place, and you will be gradually integrated into our existing technical leadership. What we really offer is the chance to shape a product with genuine meaning from the very beginning.

You don't have to be an expert on death and grief, but you should be interested in the topic. Our advisory board, consisting of a doctor, a bereavement counselor, and a person affected by loss, will provide professional support. What we need from you is the inner conviction that something better exists than what already exists. We're a small, young startup – no hierarchies, no ready-made answers, but a clear mission and a team that knows why it's building this.
