Facility: GSS ND Mandan Sunset Location: Mandan, ND Address: 1011 Boundary Street Northwestand, Mandan, ND 58554, USA Shift: Day Job Schedule: PRN Weekly Hours: Varies Salary Range: $20.00 - $28.00 Job Summary The Medication Assistant (MA) serves as caregiver who provides resident-centered nursing care under the direction of licensed nurses. The MA performs duties that assist residents with activities of daily living, and as directed, assists with medication administration. Essential Job Functions * Follows the plan of care as directed by the licensed nurse and provides resident-centered nursing care to residents. * Performs assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner. * Assists residents with activities of daily living, including but not limited to, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, and toileting. * Takes and records vital signs, weight, and other measurements as assigned. * Observes and reports changes in resident’s condition to the licensed nurse. * Assists with the administration of medications as directed by the licensed nurse. * Provides emotional support to residents and families. * Answers call lights promptly. * Follows all safety and infection control procedures. * Maintains resident confidentiality. * Attends mandatory in-services and other training as required. * Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications * High school diploma or GED required. * Current state certification as a Medication Assistant (MA) or the ability to obtain certification prior to employment. * Ability to read, write, and speak English. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff. * Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy.
