FLECS is an innovative startup from the Allgäu region, aiming to revolutionize the world of industrial automation. To achieve this, we are developing a massive open-source project that makes it incredibly easy to install apps on production machines. Open Source is often referred to as the rock band of the 21st century. We will be the rock band playing in the biggest stadiums of industry, thrilling and captivating thousands of fans.

Aufgaben

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer at FLECS who will take on a central role in shaping our cloud architecture. Your goal is to develop FLECS so that machine builders can be supported as best possible in fulfilling the requirements of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).

You will work on a cloud platform that puts Security-by-Design, transparency, and digital sovereignty at its core. In this role, you will translate regulatory requirements into concrete technical architectures, security concepts, and operating models.

As a Cloud Engineer at FLECS, you are not just an infrastructure operator but a co-designer of a trustworthy industrial platform that enables machine builders to deliver secure and long-term maintainable software products.

Aufgaben im Detail:

• Zentrale Verantwortung für Design und Weiterentwicklung der Cloud-Architektur von FLECS
• Umsetzung von Security-by-Design-Prinzipien über Infrastruktur, Plattform und Deployment hinweg
• Ableitung technischer Maßnahmen zur Unterstützung der CRA-Compliance unserer Kunden (z. B. Update-Mechanismen, Nachvollziehbarkeit)
• Design sicherer Identitäts-, Zugriffs- und Berechtigungskonzepte (IAM, Least Privilege, Zero Trust)
• Aufbau und Betrieb sicherer Kubernetes-basierter Plattformen
• Gestaltung kontrollierbarer Abhängigkeiten zu Cloud-Providern mit Fokus auf Souveränität und Portabilität
• Integration von Monitoring-, Logging- und Security-Observability-Lösungen
• Frontend-Entwicklung in Next.js/React
• Automatisierung von Infrastruktur und Deployments mittels Infrastructure-as-Code-Erstellung und Pflege technischer und sicherheitsrelevanter Dokumentation

Qualifikation

• Nachgewiesene Berufserfahrung als Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer oder DevOps Engineer
• Starkes Security-Mindset und Erfahrung mit Cloud- und Plattform-Sicherheitskonzepten
• Erfahrung mit Kubernetes, Containern und serviceorientierten Architekturen
• Sehr gute Kenntnisse in mindestens einer Cloud-Plattform (AWS, Azure oder GCP)
• Erfahrung mit Infrastructure-as-Code (z. B. Terraform)
• Verständnis für Compliance-, Risiko- und Bedrohungsmodelle (z. B. Threat Modeling, Secure Supply Chain)
• Erfahrung mit CI/CD-Pipelines und sicheren Build- & Release-Prozessen
• Kenntnisse in Skript- oder Programmiersprachen (z. B. TypeScript, Python, Go, Bash)
• Vertrautheit mit Monitoring-, Logging- und Security-Tools
• Interesse an Themen wie digitale Souveränität, kontrollierbare Abhängigkeiten und Open Standards
• Ausgezeichnete Kommunikations- und Teamwork-Fähigkeiten
• Analytische, strukturierte Arbeitsweise
• Abschluss in Informatik oder einem vergleichbaren Bereich
