Closed for Fall 2025 - CircleCat Mentorship Program Mentee

CircleCat Mentorship Program is a public mentorship project launched by CircleCat (a 501c3 non-profit organization located in New York State, USA), whose purpose is to help more Chinese-speaking women enter the tech industry. You will be mentored by experienced mentors (tech company employees) for three to four months, with bi-weekly online one-on-one career guidance sessions, and you will gain better professional development advice and support.

Requirements

• Recognize and support the concept of CircleCat Women in Tech;
• Desire to enter the tech industry and seek full-time employment at a tech company;
• Respect both parties' time, and commit to at least 5 meetings with your Mentor during the project period;
• Be proactive, motivated, and committed to investing time and energy, and be able to communicate efficiently with your Mentor.

• Do I need to pay any fees?

——No, you don't. Any attempt to collect fees from CircleCat is false. If you receive any contact attempting to charge you, please report it to us or file a complaint.

• Is the project only open to students or recent graduates?

——No. The CircleCat Mentorship Program welcomes all women who are eager to develop their careers in the tech industry, regardless of whether they are students, recent graduates, or already working professionals.

• What does 'tech company' refer to?

——According to our volunteer's company policy, we cannot publicly promote the companies that our volunteers work for. You can understand it as one or more of the FLAG/FAANG companies.

• Can I apply if I'm a male?

——Gender is not a selection criterion (it is illegal to discriminate based on gender in the United States). You need to prove your genuine support for Women in tech: past actions supporting Women in tech are one of the recruitment criteria.

• What is the difference between the Residency Program and the Mentorship Program? Can I apply for both?

——The Residency Program focuses on project-based internships, where you will participate in actual technology development projects and accumulate industry experience. The Mentorship Program is more focused on career planning and guidance. If you apply to the Residency Program, you will automatically become a member of the Mentorship Program. Therefore, you can simultaneously apply for both programs.
