Clinical Nurse Advisor - After Hours

About the Role
Step into a senior role where you take charge of after-hours clinical operations. As the most senior Registered Nurse on site during evenings, nights, and weekends, you'll drive safe, coordinated care by leading teams, responding to deterioration, and ensuring the hospital runs smoothly.
This is a permanent 0.8 FTE position with rotating shifts across two sites:
- 8-hour weekday afternoon shifts
- 10-hour night shifts
- 12-hour weekend shifts

Key Responsibilities
- Take full after-hours responsibility as duty manager and senior RN
- Lead and support nursing teams
- Respond to emergencies and guide escalation of deteriorating patients
- Apply advanced assessment skills to support clinical decision-making
- Provide real-time coaching and evidence-based clinical direction
- Manage staffing levels and adapt allocations as situations evolve
- Work with the in-hours Bureau to optimise bed flow and casual cover
About You
You're a skilled clinician who thrives in high-acuity settings and is ready for the autonomy of running the hospital after hours. You'll bring:
- Current NZ Nursing Council registration
- Recent critical care experience in ICU, HDU, or ED within a hospital in NZ or Australia
- Confident leadership capability in acute hospital settings
- Advanced clinical skills: cannulation, phlebotomy, ECG, catheterisation
- Current ACLS certification
