We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Psychologist to join us at Southern Queensland Rural Health (SQRH) as a Clinical Educator to make a real and positive difference to the education of our students and the future of regional healthcare in Queensland. As the Clinical Educator in Psychology, you will support high quality rural training experiences for undergraduate psychology students on placement within Darling Downs and South-West Queensland across a variety of settings. You will be responsible for the clinical education, direct supervision and facilitation of interprofessional learning opportunities of students, as well as collaboration with healthcare providers, supervisors and a broad range of stakeholders to build student placement capacity and quality. This is a clinical academic role which offers a Psychologist a unique and rewarding opportunity to develop their clinical teaching and clinical research, and a chance to participate in service and engagement activities within the university and wider professional community.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Teaching: Provide clinical supervision of students and best practice clinical and educational support to clinical supervisors, develop educational materials, facilitate interprofessional learning opportunities and provide academic counselling.
- Research: Maintain own expert knowledge and clinical skills, contribute to rural health research, publish and present research outcomes and implement new clinical techniques.
- Citizenship and Service: Develop and foster SQRH partnerships, engage in internal and external service roles, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.
About UQ:

About You:
- Possession of a tertiary degree in Psychology and broad clinical experience as a Psychologist, with at least 3 years of recent practice experience.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in clinical education of psychology students.
Sound knowledge of interprofessional education, collaboration and practice or the willingness and ability to rapidly acquire, utilise and disseminate such knowledge.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and work consultatively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with high levels of initiative and autonomy, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Demonstrated commitment to research activities and a willingness to participate in rural health research.
- An ability to establish relationships and to represent and promote academic discipline at a university and wider community level, including industry, government and professional bodies.
- Experience in rural and/or Indigenous health issues and/or rural health education and training is desirable.
Willingness to travel, where required.
The successful candidate will also:
Complete mandatory immunisations
- Hold full AHPRA registration as a Psychologist
- Accreditation as a Board Approved Supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia (you must have approval to supervise post-graduate psychology students ideally with practice endorsement in clinical and/or health psychology).
- Maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia
Salary Information:
$112,572 - $133,381 per annum + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level B).
