Cleaner - Whenuapai

Citycare Property will soon partner with the New Zealand Defence Force Facilities Management Services to provide essential facilities, maintenance, and infrastructure services across camps and bases throughout Aotearoa. Join us in the role of Cleaner, Whenuapai Air Base to support the environments that enable NZDF personnel to focus on protecting and serving New Zealand communities. RNZAF Base Auckland is located in Whenuapai, northwest of Auckland, and is the northernmost operational Air Force base in New Zealand. Our purpose is to provide the essential facilities, maintenance, and infrastructure services that the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) needs to operate effectively, ensuring that military personnel can focus on their core mission of protecting and serving New Zealand communities. We are looking for a diligent and reliable Cleaner to join our team at Whenuapai Air Base. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across various facilities on the base. **Key Responsibilities:** * Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing. * Clean and sanitise washrooms, kitchens, and common areas. * Empty waste bins and ensure proper disposal of rubbish. * Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels. * Report any maintenance issues or damages to the supervisor. * Adhere to health and safety regulations and cleaning procedures. * Work effectively as part of a team and independently. * Follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard. **Skills and Attributes:** * Previous cleaning experience is an advantage but not essential. * A strong work ethic and attention to detail. * Ability to work unsupervised and manage time effectively. * Good communication skills. * Reliability and punctuality. * Physical fitness to perform cleaning tasks. * A willingness to learn and follow instructions. * Must be a New Zealand Citizen or have the right to work in New Zealand. * Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a security clearance. **What we offer:** * Competitive hourly rate. * Full training provided. * Opportunities for career progression within Citycare Property. * A supportive and friendly work environment. * The chance to contribute to a vital service for New Zealand's Defence Force.
