About the Role

We’re looking for a reliable, safety-focused Class 5 Driver to join our Palmerston North based transport and logistics team. You’ll be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of steel products to customers and construction sites across the region.
This is a hands-on, Monday-to-Friday role, offering a great work-life balance with steady hours and minimal weekend work.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Driving Class 5 vehicles for local and regional deliveries
• Safely loading and unloading steel using chains, straps, and lifting equipment
• Completing delivery documentation and maintaining accurate records
• Performing daily vehicle checks and reporting maintenance issues
• Representing our company professionally with customers and site staff

Requirements

• A current Class 5 driver’s licence
• Proven truck driving experience (steel, heavy haulage, or flat-deck experience preferred)
• A strong focus on health and safety compliance
• The ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules
• Good communication and great customer service skills
• A positive, can-do attitude and team spirit
