Civil Engineer

Ansel Homes is a Melbourne-based residential builder specialising in custom homes, knockdown & rebuild projects, house & land packages, multi-unit developments and volume residential construction. The company focuses on quality construction, efficient project delivery and strong coordination between clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers.

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our growing construction and development team.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of residential and multi-unit construction projects from initial site assessment and design coordination through approvals, construction and handover.

• Review civil, structural and site-development requirements for residential projects.
• Coordinate with civil/structural consultants, surveyors, architects, councils and authorities.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
• Assist with site assessments, levels, drainage, stormwater, earthworks and external works.
• Coordinate engineering requirements for townhouses, dual occupancies and multi-unit developments.
• Assist with planning, permits, council approvals and engineering compliance.
• Identify design/construction issues and coordinate practical solutions with consultants and site teams.
• Monitor engineering aspects of projects for compliance with approved drawings, specifications and Australian Standards.
• Support project managers and construction teams with technical engineering advice.
• Review variations, engineering changes and consultant documentation.
• Assist with project scheduling, cost control and construction coordination.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical reports/recommendations.
• Maintain engineering records, documentation and compliance registers.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Australian civil engineering/construction experience preferred.
• Experience in residential construction, land development or multi-unit developments highly desirable.
• Understanding of Australian Standards, Victorian building/planning requirements and council processes.
• Ability to read and interpret civil, structural and architectural drawings.
• Experience with drainage, stormwater, earthworks, site levels and external works.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to coordinate consultants, subcontractors and internal construction teams.
• Strong problem-solving and project-management skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MS Project/Excel or similar engineering/project tools.
