Children's Social Worker

We are looking for a Children's Social Worker to join an Assessment and Intervention Team. This role requires a Social Work qualification with a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience in permanent contract/s. About the team The team is responsible for completing S17, S47 and other relevant child and family assessments to provide short term intervention for children and families to avoid further escalation to child protection services. The team is motivated to make effective decisions based on the best interests of the child. Key responsibilities include: • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families, including gathering information from multiple sources, such as schools, healthcare providers, and other professionals. • Developing and implementing individualized plans for children and families, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances. • Collaborating with other professionals, such as teachers, healthcare providers, and social workers, to ensure that the best interests of the child are being served. • Providing support and guidance to parents and caregivers to help them develop skills and strategies to promote the well-being of their children. • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, plans, and interventions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, family dynamics, and the impact of trauma on children's lives. They will be able to work effectively with children and families from diverse backgrounds, including those who may be experiencing poverty, homelessness, or other forms of disadvantage. • A Social Work qualification (BA/BSc in Social Work or equivalent) is essential for this role. • 3 years post-qualified experience in a similar role is required. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to build strong relationships with children, families, and professionals. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address the needs of children and families. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
