Job description
JOB FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the Service Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for providing comprehensive Child Welfare services to children, youth and families, ensuring their immediate and ongoing safety. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor of Social Work degree (BSW) preferred. Degree in the field of Human Services/Studies required. Applicants with a Diploma in the field of Social Work may be considered should they commit to furthering their education and obtaining one of the degrees mentioned above. EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in Child Welfare. SKILLS: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with children, youth and families, and ability to maintain confidentiality. CERTIFICATIONS: Registration with the relevant professional organization is an asset. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The incumbent will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and to prioritize tasks is essential. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide comprehensive Child Welfare services to children, youth and families, ensuring their immediate and ongoing safety. Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, youth and families. Provide crisis intervention and support as needed. Collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement individualized plans for children, youth and families. Provide information and support to children, youth and families regarding available resources and services. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Social Work degree (BSW) preferred.
