Let's Write Africa's Story TogetherOld Mutual is a firm believer in the African opportunity and our diverse talent reflects this.Job DescriptionWorking in close partnership with the Old Mutual Limited Group Risk, Compliance and Actuarial (GRCA) function and the Old Mutual Africa Regions Executive Team, the incumbent will be accountable for leading, developing and embedding an effective, future-fit enterprise risk management strategy across Old Mutual's 12 African subsidiaries.Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Risk Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the risk management framework is aligned with the Group's overall strategic objectives. This includes identifying, assessing, mitigating and monitoring risks that could impact the achievement of these objectives.Key Responsibilities:• Develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise risk management framework that aligns with the Group's strategic objectives.• Lead and manage a team of risk professionals to ensure effective risk management across Old Mutual's African subsidiaries.• Collaborate with business leaders to identify, assess and prioritize risks that could impact the achievement of strategic objectives.• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and monitor their effectiveness.• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.• Foster a culture of risk awareness and responsibility throughout Old Mutual's African operations.Key Requirements:• A professional qualification in Risk Management or a related field (e.g. PRM, CERA, FRM).• At least 8 years' experience in risk management, preferably in the financial services sector.• Strong understanding of enterprise risk management principles and practices.• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.• Ability to work effectively across cultures and geographies.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).• Familiarity with risk management software and tools is an advantage.Benefits:• Opportunity to shape the future of Old Mutual's African operations by developing and implementing a comprehensive enterprise risk management framework.• Collaborative and dynamic work environment that values diversity and inclusion.• Ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in risk management.• Competitive remuneration package and benefits.
