Chief People Officer (m/d/w) - 100% im Homeoffice - 100% im Ehrenamt

The German Relief Association e.V. (DEHIB) is establishing itself as a new, sustainable pillar in the framework of Germany's social market economy, driven by the conviction that societal impact without structural and economic sustainability cannot be sustained. The DEHIB bundles civil society, social, and economic responsibility, linking institutional professionalism with measurable impact and shaping bridges between business, politics, and the common good.

To further develop the internal organizational capacity of the DEHIB, we are looking for a Chief People Officer (CPO), who will strategically build and professionalize the entire personnel and honorary management of the DEHIB [ˈdeːhɪb].

Note: This position is to be filled on an honorary basis and without remuneration, and does not establish a social insurance-based employment relationship.

Tasks

• Development of a comprehensive people strategy for federal structure and prospective units
• Establishment of a binding recruitment and selection process for volunteers and leadership personnel
• Introduction of a professional onboarding system with clear role profiles, expectation horizons, and goal definitions
• Structuring the support phase through regular evaluation conversations, performance feedback, and competence development
• Implementation of a clean, respectful offboarding process with documentation and knowledge transfer
• Establishment of a transparent responsibility model for department heads and section leaders
• Development of a leadership framework for volunteer leadership (and Code of Conduct)
• Ensuring clear communication channels and escalation mechanisms

Qualification

• Degree in business administration, economics, psychology, human resources, organizational development or comparable
• Multiple years of experience in strategic HR management or building complex organizational structures
• Competence in process design, scaling, and structure development
• Leadership experience and assertiveness
• High implementation strength with simultaneous strategic foresight
• Able to professionally steer volunteer dynamics
