Job description
The South African Banking Risk Information Centre (SABRIC) is a public benefit organization focusing on combatting banking and financial crime and making the banking sector safer. SABRIC’s mission is to contribute to the effectiveness of the partnerships between its members and stakeholders for the benefit of the banking industry by: Facilitating information exchange and cooperation between its members, regulators, and law enforcement, Partnering and rendering technical services to SABRIC members, Providing a platform for sharing best practices and lessons learned, Enhancing the capacity of its members to combat financial crime, Promoting collaboration and coordination among stakeholders, and Fostering a culture of transparency and accountability. The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for: Developing and implementing strategies to achieve SABRIC’s mission, Leading and managing the organization's operations, Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, Providing technical assistance and support to members, Coordinating and facilitating information exchange and cooperation among members, Regulators, and law enforcement, Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of SABRIC’s programs and services, and Ensuring the financial sustainability of the organization. The ideal candidate will have: A Master's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, finance, or public policy, At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role, Strong understanding of the banking and financial sector, Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, Ability to think strategically and make informed decisions, Experience in developing and implementing strategies to achieve organizational goals, and Familiarity with the South African context and its regulatory environment.
