Chief Operating Officer / COO (m/f/d)

Your Tasks

You will report directly to the Managing Partner and will be responsible for the operational control of all non-specialist areas.

• You will further develop our operational control structures – especially in the areas of controlling, quality management, risk, resource management, and operational processes.
• You will lead Finance & Controlling and consistently use key figures, forecasts, and reports for company management.
• You will establish reliable order, capacity, and personnel planning and ensure that resources and mandate status align.
• You will create clear control rhythms, KPI rounds, and decision-making processes and ensure that agreed-upon measures are implemented.
• You will be responsible for back office, administration, and facility management.
• You will closely manage our HR and Marketing departments and support the respective managers in professionally developing their areas.
• Together with our Chief Digital & AI Officer, you will develop modern, digital processes. You will be responsible for requirements, standards, KPIs, rollout, and implementation within the organization.
• You will ensure clear responsibilities, functioning interfaces, and high process discipline – without unnecessary bureaucracy.
• You will work closely with our partners and translate company goals into concrete operational decisions.

Your Profile

• You have extensive leadership experience from professional services, a law firm, auditing, consulting, or a comparable partner-led environment.
• You have not only managed operational functions and control systems but have also built them yourself or significantly developed them further.
• You possess strong commercial and financial competence and can confidently manage controlling, reporting, and company management.
• You have experience in professionally scaling organizations and creating structures that function even with increasing complexity.
• You are hands-on in process design, enjoy working with data, systems, and automation, and understand digitalization as part of good operations.
• You can work at eye level with confident partners and executives, represent clear positions, and consistently implement decisions.
• You lead with clarity and pragmatism: high standards in substance, respectful and binding in interaction.
• You work entrepreneurially, independently, and solution-oriented and do not need micromanagement.

A tax advisor or auditor examination is not required. What matters is your experience as a professional operator and your ability to structurally and operationally develop a demanding professional services organization.
