Chief Operating Officer / COO (m/w/d)

Tasks

As Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for building and leading our entire operational organization. You will bring us from development to testing and series production – from the supply chain over test operation to site infrastructure. A leadership role directly next to the management team, with full operational responsibility.

• You build our operational organization and lead it: Production/Integration, Supply Chain, Quality, Test Operation and Site Infrastructure
• You are responsible for industrialization: Transferring development stages into reproducible production and integration processes including quality systems
• You build a reliable, export-controlled supply chain for critical components
• You plan and lead the operational execution of flight test campaigns together with our test and safety teams
• You establish program management structures for schedules, costs and risks across all programs
• You scale the team and build leadership structure for our further growth

Qualification

• At least 10 years of operational responsibility in the defense technology, aerospace or a comparable high-reliability hardware industry
• Demonstrable experience in transitioning from development to series production (industrialization, qualification, quality system)
• Leadership experience across multiple functions
• A strong hands-on mentality: You build yourself up, rather than just delegating
• Very good German language skills and good English language skills
• Citizenship of an EU or NATO member state (excluding USA) and willingness to undergo a security check according to SÜG
• Experience with missiles, ammunition, rocket motors or other energetic systems (explosive substance rights, storage, transport)
• Knowledge of military quality and qualification standards (e.g. AECTP, MIL-STD, STANAG)
• Experience with procurement programs of the BAAINBw on contractor side
• Experience in setting up production or test sites (permits, construction, commissioning)
• Military background
