Chief of Staff (m/f/d) – Munich

Our mission: We are bringing the heating transition into the future and building a system for local craft businesses that combines quality and efficiency. Specifically, this means: We are developing the operating system for our heat pump locations nationwide — from processes, to customer acquisition and craftsman hiring, to our own software.

As Chief of Staff, you will drive corporate development and be the entrepreneurial arm of the founders. Currently, this primarily means: getting our site managers up and running. This means you will not only lead them but also build the systems with which they can perform independently. Furthermore, you will be the entrepreneurial arm of the founders: you will take over where there is no clear owner yet, make decisions on behalf of management, and work cross-functionally with all other leads. Not an administrative job, but a shaping job.

Your Responsibilities

• Getting the site model up and running: building a repeatable model with which hubs can run independently, economically, and with strong human resources.
• Developing site managers into true local entrepreneurs: coaching technically strong individuals in leadership and organization, resolving conflicts in craft teams, and enforcing standards without disempowering the teams.
• Quickly bringing important special projects from 0 to 1 and testing & developing new business models with Venture Builder methods.
• Independently solving team and organizational problems (goal: the majority runs without the founders).
• Supporting personnel decisions — including terminations, if necessary.
• Making the A-player ratio in the team measurable and actively managing it.
• Cross-functionally preparing relevant business decisions with all leads and making them on behalf of management.
• Representing management in meetings, towards team leads, and externally.

• German at C2 level and resident in Munich
  
• Real startup experience: In building (e.g., Venture Building, Early Stage, Growth Phase) – no corporate background.
• Leadership experience: Led people, built them up, and also made tough personnel decisions.
• Builder Mindset: You are a generalist and prefer building systems to managing them.
• KPI-focused: You steer with numbers, not with gut feeling.
• Personality: Hungry, high work ethic, desire to build under uncertainty.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel to our locations.
• Industry experience: Heat pumps, energy, skilled trades, construction, or decentralized service models (logistics, retail, franchise, etc.).

• Fixed salary plus bonus plus relevant company share options (VSOP) – you are building along and participating in the success.
