HITS.NRW is a newly founded, central IT service provider for public universities in North Rhine-Westphalia.

To achieve this, we develop nationwide scalable services from the areas of Cloud, Cyber Security, Software and IT Procurement. What awaits you

• In this strategically important position, you will be responsible for the overall information security strategy of HITS.NRW, be a close sparring partner for the management team in all matters of information security, risk and compliance strategy, and take care of building a security culture in the long term.
• You will be responsible for various security guidelines and standards, accompany audits, conduct risk analyses, penetration tests and vulnerability scans.
• A particular focus is on developing the security architecture of all HITS services in collaboration with the Cyber Security department, as well as implementing secure multi-cloud and virtual data center solutions.
• You will also ensure a comprehensive incident response and business continuity management.
• In addition to these tasks, you will build good cooperation with research institutions and authorities, present security strategies, status reports and KPIs at the management and committee level, and represent HITS.NRW on conferences and in expert forums.

What you bring

• A completed university degree in (business) informatics, IT security or comparable qualification.
• Multiple years of experience in a leadership position in the field of information security, ideally in the university or public sector environment.
• In-depth knowledge in the areas of Cloud Security (Azure, AWS, GCP), network security, identity and access management, SOC and SIEM technologies.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer / Auditor or comparable are desirable.
• A strong strategic and analytical mindset, combined with high communication and persuasion skills.
• Very good German and English language skills in writing and speaking.
