The Recycling & Disposal department assesses and processes waste streams from our own production as well as from external partners. The environmentally sound recycling of these materials is carried out primarily in our own waste recycling and wastewater pre-treatment plants or in cooperation with external partners in Switzerland and neighboring countries. To ensure the resource- and cost-efficient handling of recycling and disposal projects, as well as to assess chemical laboratory and operational processes, we are looking for reinforcements for our team.

Chemical Specialist Waste Recycling (m/f/d)

Your Responsibilities

• Assessment and categorization of waste streams regarding their recyclability, considering the following aspects

• Chemical compatibility
• Material flow and substance flow, temporal interdependencies
• Economic criteria
• Ecology, logistics routes, and ADR regulations

• Thoughtful and goal-oriented communication with the external disposal market; active and relevant network building and expansion; contact with customers, service providers, and authorities
• Maintenance of databases (ERP and interfaces with authorities)
• Participation in technical projects; identification of value chains and sustainable cycles, including cost analysis; creative problem-solving and identification of alternative recycling options; preparation of decision-making bases with evaluated options
• Promotion of the circular economy: Active contribution to waste minimization; process optimization and resource conservation; reduction of environmental impact through the development and implementation of sustainable recycling strategies
• Management of the administrative recycling process from external inquiry through offer preparation to disposal
• Maintenance of official permits

Your Profile

• Chemical education at BSc level with completed vocational training in an industrial environment, solid knowledge in inorganic and organic chemistry
• Experience in industry and handling of special waste from the chemical industry is an advantage
• Pragmatic, analytical, and logical working method
• Confident technical documentation style
• Fluent German, other national languages are an advantage
• High willingness to perform, efficient and goal-oriented working method
• Strong communication skills and negotiation skills in a cross-functional environment
