About the Role:
As a key member of our kitchen team, you’ll support the Business Manager, Operations Manager and Head Chef to deliver:

High‑quality food preparation and presentation
Exceptional customer service
A well‑organised, efficient kitchen
Positive contributions to business growth and profitability

You'll work closely with internal teams across all Waitomo attractions, and interact with a variety of customers, tour guides and drivers daily.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Prepare and cook food for blackboard menus, cabinet, and buffet service
Plan menus and assist with menu development and pricing
Estimate and manage food and labour costs
Monitor quality and presentation throughout preparation stages
Maintain excellent hygiene and sanitation standards, and train staff in these areas
Support stocktake activities and general kitchen responsibilities
Provide friendly, efficient customer service with consistently high food presentation standards


What We’re Looking For:

At least 3 years of relevant experience and/or a NZ Register Diploma in Cookery
Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team
Strong organisation, time management and attention to detail skills
Calm under pressure with a strong work ethic and initiative
Excellent communication and customer service skills
High standard of personal grooming and presentation
Reliability, honesty, friendliness, and a positive attitude to work
Availability to work a 7‑day rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
