Description
The Chef at Te Pa Tu plays a crucial role in the culinary operations of our organization. They are responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen and ensuring that high-quality dishes are consistently produced. Some key responsibilities and main tasks include:
- Assisting in the preparation and cooking of menu items within their designated section
- Supervising and training junior members of the kitchen team
- Ensuring that all dishes meet the highest standards for taste, presentation, and quality
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Contributing to menu planning and development of new recipes
- Assisting with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
- Adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations at all times
- Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours
The Chef should be passionate about delivering exceptional culinary experiences, have a keen attention to detail, and possess strong leadership and communication skills. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of food quality and consistency.
Skills And Experiences
Required skills
- Proven experience as a Chef or equivalent role
- Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities
- Creativity and innovation in menu planning and food presentation
- Attention to detail and adherence to food safety standards
- Capability to collaborate with the kitchen team and support the Head Chef's vision
Required experiences
- Prior experience working in a professional kitchen environment, preferably in a similar role
- Demonstrated success in managing a section of the kitchen and delivering high-quality dishes consistently
- Familiarity with menu development, portion control, and cost management
- A track record of maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene standards within the kitchen area
- An understanding of inventory management, ordering supplies, and stock rotation practices.
- Uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards in all aspects of service.
