CHEF

Chef required for a well-established Australian business “ORO ITALIAN DINING” located at 4 HORNE STREET, ELSTERNWICK VIC 3185. Prospective applicants must have good prior experience of working commercially as a chef. Duties include.

• Monitor the kitchen staff during pre-cooking preparations.
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of food preparation, food presentation.
• Prepare specialized food items from the café menu
• Preparing food items keeping in mind the nutrition value of the items included.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients as per café’s food recipes or personal judgment.
• Planning menus & recipes.
• Estimating food and Labor costs and ordering food supplies.
• Plan staff rosters.
• Discussing food preparation issues with Manager and other kitchen staff.
• Time to time, train junior staff.
• Managing the organization of all stock and stock control for the venue
• Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
• Upholding food safety and hygiene standards
• Obey Occupational Health and Safety and Food Hygiene procedures.

Applicants with formal qualifications (AQF Certificate IV in commercial cookery OR Diploma of Hospitality) and with 2 years of practical experience working as a CHEF will be prioritised. Position is available full time, 38 hours/week but applicant must be available for 7 days/week and willing to work odd hours (Weekend, public holidays & late shifts).
