Key Responsibilities

The Chef will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations and preparing menu items in accordance with the restaurant’s standards for quality, presentation, and consistency. The role includes contributing to menu planning with management, ensuring dishes reflect seasonal produce and customer expectations, and maintaining efficient kitchen workflow during service periods.

The position also involves managing stock control, ordering supplies, liaising with suppliers, and monitoring inventory to minimise waste and control food costs. The Chef will ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements, as well as supervise and support kitchen staff to maintain a productive and professional work environment.

Skills and Experience

Applicants must hold a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, preferably with a Diploma of Hospitality, and have at least two years of relevant post-qualification experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and a genuine passion for food are essential. Flexibility to work weekends and varied hours is required.

What We Offer

This is a full-time position offered on a minimum two-year contract, with potential for extension. The annual salary ranges between $75,000 and $80,000 (excluding superannuation), depending on experience. The role offers a supportive work environment where skills and commitment are valued.
