Position: Chef
Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 plus Superannuation
Term: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Victoria

Key Responsibilities

As a full-time Chef your duties will include:

  • Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and arrange the ordering of food supplies.
  • Monitor the quality of dishes throughout preparation and presentation.
  • Collaborate with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff on food preparation matters.
  • Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance on preparation methods.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety regulations.
  • Assist in selecting and training kitchen staff as required.
  • Lead and inspire a dedicated kitchen team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Handle food preservation, including freezing and storage, when necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with ACQSC standards for the dining experience.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant Diploma-level qualification in cookery, hospitality, or kitchen management.
  • At least three years of experience in a similar role within aged care, healthcare, or hospitality.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and dietary requirements.
  • Ability to plan, prepare, and present nutritious and appealing meals.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Genuine passion for creating a positive dining experience for residents.
