Martin St Cafe Pty Ltd is a vibrant and welcoming café known for delivering fresh, high-quality meals and exceptional service. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team and contribute to the continued success of our growing business.

As a Chef, you will be responsible for all aspects of food preparation and kitchen operations. This includes menu planning, supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality, and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.

• Planning menus and estimating food and labour costs
• Ordering food supplies and managing stock levels
• Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Discussing food preparation and service with Managers, Dietitians, and staff
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Preparing and cooking meals according to menu specifications
• Enforcing and maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards
• May be involved in the selection and training of kitchen staff
• May also handle freezing and preservation of food items

Most occupations in this unit group have a level of skill commensurate with the following:

In Australia:

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) in Commercial Cookery or related field
• Proven experience in a commercial kitchen
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Creativity and passion for quality food preparation and presentation
