JPT Group Pty Ltd T/A India Brothers Restaurant is looking for a full-time qualified Chef for our Indian Restaurant at Gympie. Indian Brothers offers a unique dining experience, serving innovative Indian cuisine in an elegant and stylish setting. All our dishes are cooked from Local fresh produce ensuring a delicious and healthy to every customer that steps in. We are seeking an experienced and qualified Chef for our restaurant at Gympie 4570 QLD.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for the preparation of dishes as per the menu and recipes.
• Ensuring that the meals are prepared as per hygiene standards and served to the customers on time.
• Ensure staff always adhere to Occupational health and safety measures.
• Ensuring the seasoning and garnishing of food are done appropriately as well as ensuring that the right portion of food is served to the customers as per restaurant standards.
• Analyzing and approximating the price for food and human resources.
• Menu designing and amending details in menu regarding prices, dishes whenever required as well as planning seasonal specials.
• Ensuring that the food is stored in temperature-controlled facilities.
• Directing food preparation to meet any special dietary requirements of the customer.
• Managing stock inventory and ordering raw materials of high quality.
• Providing instructions to kitchen staff regarding the proper way of handling cooking equipment and demonstrating different cooking styles.
• Monitoring the quality of raw and cooked food.
• Recruit, Train and mentor other kitchen staff and apprentices.
• Working closely with managers, dietitians, kitchen staff, and waiting staff, the focus is on fostering collaboration and addressing operational, nutritional, and customer service aspects to ensure efficient and high-quality food service.
• Effectively deal and rectify the issues for the smooth operations of the business.

Qualification and experience:

• Diploma of Hospitality is required.
• The candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in busy restaurant.
• Friendly, positive & approachable attitude.
• To be energetic & motivated.
• Able to work under pressure.

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per annum plus superannuation
