The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. The role involves food preparation, cooking and kitchen operations while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, hygiene and service.

Key Responsibilities
• Organise daily kitchen activities and arrange ingredients and preparation tasks based on menu requirements.
• Prepare and cook a variety of cafe dishes while maintaining appropriate portion sizes and presentation.
• Assist with the preparation of pastries, baked products, breads and other menu items as required.
• Check food quality throughout preparation and ensure finished dishes meet established presentation standards.
• Work with managers and kitchen and service staff to address food preparation and service requirements.
• Guide kitchen team members on appropriate cooking methods, preparation techniques and workplace procedures.
• Maintain food hygiene, cleanliness and safe handling practices in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Assist with training new kitchen staff and provide guidance on food preparation and kitchen procedures.
• Store, preserve and rotate food products appropriately to maintain freshness and minimise wastage.

Qualifications & Experience
• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Commercial Cookery or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Chef or in a similar commercial kitchen role.
• Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety requirements.
• Strong communication, teamwork, organisation and time-management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment while maintaining food quality and presentation.
