About the role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chef to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of Indian dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and assisting in menu development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, biryanis, and vegetarian specialties.
• Plan and develop new menu items that reflect authentic Indian flavours and customer preferences.
• Ensure all meals are prepared to a consistently high standard and presented professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and comply with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow.
• Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering ingredients and supplies.
• Ensure portion control, minimise wastage, and maintain cost efficiency.
• Work closely with management to coordinate daily kitchen operations.

Skills/Qualifications required

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience as a Chef, preferably in an Indian cuisine restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple orders simultaneously.
• Excellent time management, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Commitment to maintaining high food quality and hygiene standards.

Salary in range $75 - 85,000 + super commensurate with experience.
