CHEF

Gourmet BBQ Restaurant is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our busy restaurant team on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s menu and recipes.
Prepare ingredients and ensure food is cooked to a high standard.
Monitor food quality, presentation, portion sizes and consistency
Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards in the kitchen.
Manage stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies.
Assist with menu planning and development where required.
Ensure dishes are prepared and served within appropriate timeframes.
Coordinate with kitchen staff and front-of-house staff during busy service periods.
Minimize food wastage and maintain effective food storage practices.
Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues.
Follow workplace health and safety requirements at all times

Essential Requirements

Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related field.
Relevant experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Availability to work full-time, including weekends and public holidays as required.

Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 + superannuation
