Functional Project Manager – Accounting Migration (Full Remote Possible)

Today, we are recruiting someone who has worked as an accounting associate in a firm, ideally having participated in one or more migrations to new accounting software. Your knowledge of the profession and the daily realities of firms will allow you to best support them in migrating their accounting data to Pennylane.

🎯 Your Role

You will join the Partner Solutions Specialists team, composed entirely of former accountants. A team that understands the challenges of firms from the inside, and supports them with the right level of business expertise, rigor, and empathy.

As a Front PSS, you are the business expert in direct contact with all stakeholders during migration projects. You work in tandem with the Back PSS (Partner Solutions Architect), who handles integration and technical aspects. You are the face of the project for the firm: the one who frames, reassures, and drives progress.

This is a demanding role, at the intersection of project management, accounting expertise, and client relations, with a real advisory and continuous improvement dimension.

📋 Your Daily Tasks

Audit and analysis of functional needs

• Plan, prepare, and lead meetings with firms – from launch to post-mortem, including briefings, scoping, and debriefings

• Analyze business needs based on field feedback and migration experiences

• Write documentation and user stories to facilitate understanding by other teams

• Lead workshops and webinars – some focused on business uses, others more transversal

Migration project management

• Ensure that migrations follow a clear and documented path for all stakeholders (internal and external)

• Adapt the approach based on situations, while ensuring compliance with existing processes to guarantee true inter-team collaboration

• Communicate regularly on the alignment between technical solutions and business needs

• Act as an information relay to the Back PSS, responsible for integration, correction, and control

Business preparation and configuration

• Contribute to the configuration of Pennylane to adapt it to the existing business processes of firms

• Participate in functional tests to validate that the solution meets business requirements before migration

Post-migration support and acceptance testing

• Collaborate with Back PSS teams on debugging and resolving business issues after migration

• Conduct intermediate and final functional tests to validate solutions

• Contribute to post-migration reports and propose areas for improvement

Process automation and optimization

• Identify and prioritize automation and optimization needs

• Participate in their implementation through documentation, feedback, or concrete proposals

• Monitor business satisfaction after each update

Monitoring, R&D, and continuous improvement

• Ensure product and business monitoring to guarantee the relevance of features

• Propose improvements to existing processes and report any gaps or malfunctions

• Contribute to the transformation of needs into actionable solutions, both internally and externally

Front / Back Collaboration

• Understand the challenges of the Back PSS tasks and be able to intervene occasionally in production as needed

🙋 The Profile We Are Looking For

• Accounting education: IUT GEA, BTS CGO, DCG, DSCG, Master CCA – you have the solid foundation

• Experience in an accounting firm, ideally with one or more previous migrations

• Comfortable speaking and writing, you interact with accountants clearly, professionally, and credibly

• Sense of service and client relations: you understand needs, respond to them, and maintain a genuine long-term relationship of trust

• Able to work autonomously and as part of a team, with real flexibility to adapt to rapid product changes

• Eagerness to learn continuously and stay up-to-date on Pennylane's functional evolutions

• English level A2 minimum

Nice to have

• Comfortable in a startup environment

• English level B1

• Good synthesis skills and genuine pedagogical approach

• High proactivity and autonomy
