CHEF / CHEFFE, APPROVISIONNEMENT STRATÉGIQUE

The Negotiation and Business Relations Department is seeking a key person to join its team. As the strategic procurement chef, your main role will be to lead and mobilize the indirect procurement team (goods and services). The ideal candidate has demonstrated the ability to develop and implement strategic procurement strategies that meet the three key deliverables of the function:

• Optimization of costs: Achieve sustainable and measurable cost savings.
  
• Maximization of added value: Generate qualitative and quantitative benefits for the company.
  
• Risk reduction: Anticipate and mitigate risks related to suppliers, markets, and compliance.
  

More specifically, the successful candidate will have as their main responsibilities:

Purchasing expense and supplier management :

• Analyze expenses and market trends, as well as supplier comparisons to identify opportunities for economic or operational optimization and risk reduction ;
  
• Develop and implement three-year procurement strategies for assigned categories, in line with the company's objectives and function ;
  
• Determine the best sources of supply and negotiation strategies for their categories and ensure execution (tenders and/or negotiations) ;
  
• Establish and maintain healthy relationships with suppliers, focused on creating multi-party value ;
  
• Coordinate supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives ;
  
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to their categories' expenses, including tracking benefits resulting from the implementation of procurement strategies.
  

Mobilizing stakeholders and executing initiatives :

• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and align procurement strategies accordingly ;
  
• Serve as a resource person for any question or contractual issue related to suppliers of categories under your responsibility ;
  
• Pilot the implementation of changes resulting from procurement strategies, ensuring efficient execution through rigorous and structured project management ;
  
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards ;
  
• Maintain a complete and accurate documentation to meet audit and reporting needs.
  

In their toolkit, our future colleague possesses :

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or other relevant field ;
  
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a strategic procurement role ;
  
• Experience in management (a strong asset) ;
  
• Note: any other combination of education and experience may be considered ;
  
• Proven experience in complex negotiation and achieving tangible results ;
  
• Mastery of Office 365, Excel – intermediate level ;
  
• Mastery of procurement tools (e.g. Ariba, Coupa, SAP) ;
  
• Knowledge of retail commerce (an asset) ;
  
• Knowledge of corporate social responsibility, diverse suppliers, and risk management (an asset) ;
  
• Experience in indirect categories (goods and services) and international procurement (an asset) ;
  
• Due to the nature of the role requiring interactions with unilingual French-speaking and English-speaking suppliers, advanced fluency in French (advanced level) and English (advanced level) is required for this position.
