We are seeking a skilled Chef to join our Hobart waterfront venue and support our premium kitchen operations. This role involves preparing high-quality dishes, coordinating food production, and ensuring efficient use of ingredients, staff, and equipment. The Chef will also contribute to menu development, kitchen workflow improvements, and maintaining the high standards expected from a leading Tasmanian hospitality destination.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Assist with menu planning, costing, and forecasting food quantities

Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes with precision and creativity

Maintain excellent standards of taste, quality, and presentation

Supervise and train kitchen staff in preparation, techniques, and safety

Manage ordering and inventory of ingredients and kitchen supplies

Collaborate with management on new dishes and menu refinement

Work closely with FOH to ensure smooth and timely service

Maintain full compliance with hygiene, food safety, and kitchen standards

Qualification & Experience

AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in Commercial Cookery, Kitchen Management, or Hospitality Management

Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Experience in premium dining or high-end hospitality environments preferred

Pastry experience will be a great addition
