Job description
Our client 'Boardwalk Tavern' is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will bring strong culinary skills, leadership capability, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and kitchen operations.
In this role, you will take responsibility for delivering high-quality dishes, supporting daily kitchen operations, and contributing to a positive team culture. You will work closely with senior chefs and management to ensure consistency, efficiency and an excellent dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for preparation, cooking and presentation of all food items within the kitchen
• Responsible for the overall cleanliness and presentation of the kitchen
• Requisition, storage, control and ordering of stock
• Care and maintenance of equipment
• Supervision, training and development of other kitchen employees
• Menu planning and pricing
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety practices
• Assisting in the development of marketing strategies
• Liaising with other departments
• Practising proper workplace health and safety procedures
Key Selection Criteria
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade qualification

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade qualification
- Experience in managing the operations of a commercial kitchen, including:
- Supervision, rostering and training of kitchen staff
- Menu planning and pricing
- Maintaining stock control
- Developing and implementing marketing strategies
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with customers and supervise and train staff
- Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve customer complaints professionally and effectively
- Supportive and collaborative team environment
