  • Strengthen clinical capability, ensuring staff are skilled, supported, and professionally developed
  • Optimise resources and manage budgets effectively
  • Collaborate with other unit leaders to coordinate staffing and shared resources
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and support change in a fast-evolving environment

About You

You're a confident clinical leader who brings depth of experience from high-acuity environments and a clear vision for how a PACU should run. You combine strong clinical judgement with the ability to coach, influence, and lift capability across a diverse team.

You'll succeed in this role if you bring:

  • Current NZ RN registration and APC
  • Leadership experience within PACU, ICU, OR or ED
  • Must have experience working in hospitals within NZ or Australia
  • Postgraduate study in a relevant clinical specialty, with further leadership training underway or on your development path
  • Advanced technical proficiency and the willingness to stay hands-on when needed
  • The ability to stay composed in fast-moving situations and guide others through change
  • A collaborative, relationship-focused style that builds trust with specialists and colleagues

Package & Benefits

  • Funded professional development
  • Free parking
  • Christmas & New Year shutdown
  • Subsidised private health insurance (after 2 years)
  • Discounts on gyms, retail, hospital, and pharmacy services
  • Wellbeing support programme

Ready to lead a high-performing PACU through its next stage of growth?

If you're a decisive, energetic nurse leader who thrives on clinical excellence and team development, this role offers the scope and influence to make a meaningful impact.
