Job description
TEHORA is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager - Civil Engineering having excellent technical skills, excellent knowledge and who wishes to leverage their expertise within a polyvalent team.
Without being exhaustive, here are the services and deliverables that the retained person will have to provide.
Description of works or goods deliverables :
- Obtain plans and estimates for construction;
- Ensure all necessary government and municipal permits are obtained;
- Provide necessary information to the supervisor;
- Furnish laboratory with material data;
- Plan a start-up meeting.
- Take note of project details, contract details, and visit sites.
- Obtain plans for "Construction"
- Study plans and estimates before executing works;
- Ensure all records (video and photos) are obtained before works;
- Verify workshop drawings, technical files, and equivalence requests;
- Write and distribute all correspondence related to the project, and this, to all stakeholders;
- Convene, prepare, and direct meetings :
- Write and disseminate meeting minutes;
- Obtain required documents;
- Confirm with the City of Sherbrooke's Project Manager the name of the supervisor before
the start of works; - Ensure compliance with clauses related to material quality and implementation
- Receive all documents related to quality control to ensure compliance with requirements and transmit them to the laboratory;
- Ensure material quality and implementation;
- Interpret analysis results and make recommendations to the City of Sherbrooke's Project Manager in case of non-compliance
- Perform periodic site visits;
- Pursue necessary actions to meet requirements;
- Apply change directives after approval from the City;
- Ensure coordination between the laboratory and all stakeholders;
- Write observation memos and/or memos to the contractor to ensure compliance with contractual clauses and as needed;
- Ensure receipt of signage plans submitted by the contractor and transmit them to the City;
- Ensure daily construction site log;
- Ensure all elements to be verified have been validated;
19. Obtain erosion and sediment control plan and ensure environmental measures follow-up;
20. Ensure compliance with material measurement procedure;
21. Ensure project progress respects the scheduled calendar;
22. Authorize placement of each layer of foundations after laboratory approval on infrastructure quality and each layer;
23. Authorize placement of each layer of paving after receipt of ovalization results and/or passage through sewer conduits and each - Ensure works are executed in accordance with plans and estimates :
- Monitor verification of coffrages and armatures before concreting;
- Counsel and make recommendations on solutions to technical problems arising during the project and request authorization from the City's Project Manager and, if necessary, the designer;
- Establish quantities of executed works;
- Pursue and conduct a pre-inspection visit before inspection visits to ensure deficiencies have been corrected and there are no other deficiencies;
- Conduct provisional and definitive inspections of the site and recommend acceptance of the works by issuing a certificate and writing a list of deficiencies;
- Produce status plans as built according to current procedures and art rules;
- Produce surveillance reports, both provisional and definitive, including a synthesis of works and problems encountered and points requiring follow-up to be made by the City of Sherbrooke
Requirements
- be an engineer in civil engineering, active member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- have experience in project management for civil engineering projects;
- possess at least five years of experience as a project manager in the field of construction of underground infrastructure (aqueducts, sewers)
- ensure that all activities are executed in accordance with requirements, including deadlines, budgets and technical decisions associated with the realization of this project, and that the information collected is precise and reliable;

SALARY
The salary will be calculated based on the average hourly rate corresponding to your profile.
WORKPLACE
The workplace will be determined according to the mandate, it may be telework or at the client's office.
