Job Title Certifying Plumber/Gasfitter Job Description Summary Certifying Plumber/Gasfitter based at the University of Auckland Accommodation contract. Planned/Reactive Maintenance and small project work within a deticated site based team. Job Description Overview of Business Unit The Plumbing team supports the University Accommodation Business Unit by delivering reactive, planned and small-project maintenance services across student accommodation and selected university buildings. Work is carried out in accordance with the University's Health and Safety Policy and Procedures. Key Responsibilities: • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks on plumbing and gasfitting systems, including installation, testing and commissioning of new systems. • Conduct site inspections and report on the condition of plumbing and gasfitting systems. • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and programs to ensure the efficient and effective maintenance of plumbing and gasfitting systems. • Provide technical advice and support to other teams and stakeholders. • Participate in the development and implementation of the University's Asset Management Plan. • Collaborate with other teams to identify and prioritize maintenance and capital works projects. • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and University policies. Job Requirements: • Diploma or degree in Plumbing or Gasfitting or equivalent. • Current certification as a Certifying Plumber/Gasfitter. • Strong understanding of plumbing and gasfitting systems, including installation, testing and commissioning. • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
