Cegeka - Java MEAN Engineer

For a leading player in the Belgian healthcare sector, we are looking for an experienced MEAN Developer to strengthen the DS Web - MEAN team. You will end up in a modern, digital environment where web platforms play a crucial role in service delivery to millions of users. Within this assignment, you will focus on upgrading existing MEAN applications, eliminating security vulnerabilities and further professionalizing the development environments. You will work according to Agile principles, using Scrum as a framework. Your tasks will include, but are not limited to: • Upgrading existing MEAN applications to the latest versions of MongoDB, Express.js, Angular and Node.js. • Eliminating security vulnerabilities in existing MEAN applications. • Professionalizing development environments by implementing best practices for code quality, testing and deployment. • Collaborating with other team members to identify and prioritize tasks. • Participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives. • Ensuring that all changes are properly documented and tested before being deployed to production. Requirements: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. • At least 3 years of experience with MEAN technologies (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular and Node.js). • Experience with Agile development methodologies, preferably Scrum. • Strong understanding of software development principles, including design patterns, testing and version control. • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. • Good communication and collaboration skills. • Fluency in English is required.
