Jacquemus was founded by Simon Porte Jacquemus in 2009 in Paris, France.
Dedicated to the memory of the creator's mother, the brand draws inspiration from a passion for culture. Women's and men's collections reference the French art of living and universal gestures of beauty, integrating influences ranging from art photography to decorative arts, cinema, painting, and sculpture.
Over the years, Jacquemus has staged its fashion shows in unique and unexpected locations, including a Parisian swimming pool, the Picasso Museum, a lavender field in Provence, a wheat field on the outskirts of Paris, a salt marsh in the Camargue, and a beach in Hawaii. YOUR ROLE
In direct contact with the creative studio, you will translate the sketches and the artistic director's intentions into volumes and initial patterns. You will be responsible for the silhouette, proportions, and fit of the House's pieces.
YOUR MISSIONS
- Interpret sketches and references from the studio to create patterns
- Work on volumes using flat pattern making and draping
- Create and modify toiles (muslins)
- Follow the assembly of prototypes with the atelier
- Oversee fittings and propose adjustments to cut and proportions
- Evolve patterns until final validation
- Transmit complete models and technical files to the design office
YOUR PROFILE
- Pattern making degree (BTS, DMA, ESMOD, AICP, Chambre Syndicale, or equivalent)
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a pattern maker in a luxury or high-end ready-to-wear house
- Specialization in soft tailoring and/or tailoring, with good knowledge of associated materials (silk, crepe, woolens, structured fabrics…)
- Proficiency in flat pattern making and draping; knowledge of CAD software is a plus
- Creative sensibility and good understanding of the House's universe
- Sense of volume, detail, and fit
- Ability to communicate with the studio and meet collection deadlines
