Job description
Within the Collection department, and under the responsibility of the Ready-to-Wear Casual Product Development Manager, you will be in charge of developing the Knit and Jersey product categories.
You will be the interface between the studio, factories/suppliers, fabrics and trims, collection merchandising, and the production team to ensure compliance with the House's style, quality, and prices/margins.
Product Development:
Ensure the follow-up of the development process and the refinement of knit and jersey products, from the launch of the first prototype to the delivery of SMS collection, until handover to production.
Knit material development: launch of stitch/hand trials with factories, ensuring technical feasibility.
Jersey material development: launch of trials, various techniques/effects/washes/embroidery/prints with factories, ensuring technical feasibility.
Creation of technical sheets and nomenclatures in the PLM to ensure the referencing of all collection information in the system.
Ensure compliance with the planning deadlines, costs, quality, and delivery times.
Ensure industrial feasibility at each stage of product development.
Be proactive in finding solutions.
Manage a network of 10 manufacturers (7 for knit, 3 for jersey).
Sourcing, Suppliers, and Manufacturers:
Research and develop materials with spinning mills and jersey manufacturers, propose new techniques, etc.
Yarn sourcing: meetings with spinning mills, sourcing at the Pitti Filati trade show.
Request information from suppliers: prices, minimums, terms, delivery times, etc.
Daily follow-up with material suppliers and manufacturers (Portugal and Italy).
Source new factories to expand the network of manufacturers.
Collection Follow-up and Coordination:
Follow up on the dispatch of trials, prototypes, and SMS.
Follow up and negotiate prices for models and materials.
Monitor the collection budget (trials, prototypes, SMS, materials).
Update collection tools: PLM, collection plans, price sheets.
Coordinate information between the studio, fabrics and trims, collection merchandising, production, and manufacturers.
Follow up on fittings and take notes, participate in collection meetings, and workshops with the studio.
Showroom and Production:
Participate in showroom preparation: collection delivery, price meeting, photo shooting for e-commerce.
Create technical product descriptions for e-commerce.
Create material books, customer benefits, etc.
Participate in the collection brief.
Participate in the handover of collection files during normalization with the production team.
Confirmed experience of at least 3 years in collection (or production) as a Knit Product Manager (jersey experience is a significant asset), ideally within a premium or accessible luxury brand.
Solid knowledge of knitting techniques (gauges, yarns, stitches), the world of spinning mills, and the processes for developing finished products.
Knowledge of jersey textile finishing processes is a plus: embroidery, printing, washing, etc.
Strong sensitivity to products, materials, and knowledge of the market and trends. Attention to detail and high standards of quality.
Team spirit, excellent interpersonal skills, proactivity, and initiative.
Organizational skills and excellent prioritization, adaptability, proactivity, and great rigor.
Proficiency in professional English, both written and spoken, as well as textile vocabulary; Italian is a plus.
Proficiency in Excel is essential.
Knowledge of a PLM would be a significant asset.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a stimulating and responsible work environment within a rapidly growing house.
Travel to factories and trade shows several times a year.
