Job Description
Are you an enthusiastic catering or hospitality employee with a passion for hospitality? Read on quickly. Because perhaps we at Paresto – the internal defense caterer – are looking for you! Good food is crucial for the operational readiness of our defense colleagues. As a catering employee of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee in Eindhoven, you will contribute to this.
As a defense employee, your work matters, and for clarity: you don't have to be military personnel for that. Paresto consists of 95% civilian employees in the service of the Ministry of Defence.
What will you do?
From a hospitable attitude, you will continuously improve our services. Guests in our staff restaurant and users of other (banqueting) services are central. At the front, you will make guests feel at home, help them with questions, replenish the assortment, and work the cash register. You will also assist with any banqueting services, such as meeting lunches, special (officer) dinners, or gatherings. Additionally, you will help keep the food environment clean according to HACCP rules at the front and back (kitchen/dishwashing). Your hospitable and proactive attitude will make guests want to return!
We are a lunch location. Very occasionally, a weekend shift may occur. You will create your schedule in close consultation with the catering manager, and generally: you work in hospitality, but with more regular working hours and better employment conditions. The hours are spread over four or five days.
Brief overview of your duties:
• Hospitably receiving and attending to guests during lunch and dinner
• Cash register duties
• Participating in (meeting) lunch and banqueting services
• Replenishing the assortment
• Cleaning activities according to HACCP rules
Job Requirements
• You possess at least a completed hospitality or catering education at MBO 1 level and/or a comparable qualification
• You have at least 3 years of experience in the hospitality-catering sector
• You are communicative, a team player, customer-oriented, professional, integrous, flexible, and eager to take initiative

At the Ministry of Defence, as an employee, you will have access to an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) on a monthly basis. This IKB is comprised of your holiday allowance and year-end bonus. This amounts to 16.33% of your gross salary.
You can save the IKB, have it paid out, or spend it. The latter can be used for mobility (bicycle or e-bike), IT resources (laptop, etc.), union contributions, or additional vacation days, for example. The IKB makes a significant portion of your salary directly usable for what truly matters to you.
Specifics

- Your application documents will be destroyed no later than three months after the completion of the selection procedure. This period is longer than the standard period prescribed by the General Data Protection Regulation. This longer period is necessary in case an objection and/or appeal procedure is initiated by an internal candidate.
- In accordance with internal procedures, employees with an employment contract with the Ministry of Defence will be considered first. If no suitable internal candidate can be selected, external interested parties will be considered.
