Carpenters/Cabinet Makers/Fibrous Plasterers

About Us
Established in 2017, Alpine Plastering and Carpentry Pty Ltd is a multidisciplinary construction company specialising in plastering and carpentry services for apartment developments. We also have extensive experience delivering works for aged care facilities and educational projects.
Our services include internal plastering, carpentry, exterior cladding, cabinetry and joinery installation, and the supply and installation of fire doors.
We are proud members of the Master Builders Association of Victoria and the Association of Wall and Ceiling Industries. We remain committed to current construction techniques, efficient project delivery and applicable fire safety requirements.
Due to continued business growth, we are seeking experienced Carpenters, Cabinet Makers and Fibrous Plasterers to join our team.
Carpenter
Key responsibilities include:
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and plans;
- Measuring, cutting, assembling and installing timber and other building materials;
- Constructing and installing wall frames, doors, door frames, external cladding and architectural components;
- Installing fire-rated doors and associated hardware in accordance with project specifications;
- Carrying out fit-out, alteration and finishing work;
- Inspecting completed work to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance;
- Coordinating with site supervisors, tradespeople and subcontractors; and
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work area.
Cabinet Maker
Key responsibilities include:
- Reading and interpreting cabinetry drawings, plans and specifications;
- Measuring, marking, cutting and shaping timber, manufactured boards and other materials;
- Manufacturing, assembling and installing cabinets, cupboards, shelving and fitted joinery;
- Installing hardware, hinges, fittings and other cabinetry components;
- Carrying out on-site adjustments, repairs and finishing work;
- Checking completed cabinetry for alignment, dimensions and finish quality;
- Coordinating installation activities with carpenters and other construction personnel; and
- Operating tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Fibrous Plasterer
Key responsibilities include:
- Reading and interpreting plans and project specifications;
- Measuring, cutting and fixing plasterboard to walls and ceilings;
- Installing suspended ceilings, bulkheads, partitions and other internal lining systems;
- Applying joint compounds, tapes and finishing materials;
- Installing cornices, decorative mouldings and prefabricated plaster components;
- Preparing surfaces and completing sanding and finishing work;
- Undertaking repairs and rectification of plasterboard surfaces;
- Ensuring completed work meets quality, safety and project requirements; and
- Working effectively with site supervisors and other trades.
Skills and Experience
Applicants should have:
- A relevant trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Carpentry, Cabinet Making or Wall and Ceiling Lining, or an equivalent overseas qualification;
- Relevant practical experience in the nominated trade;
- The ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications;
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials and workplace safety requirements;
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship;
- The ability to work independently and as part of a project team;
- Reliable time-management and communication skills;
- A valid White Card; and
- A current driver licence or reliable access to transport.
Experience working on apartment developments, aged care facilities, educational buildings, external cladding or fire-rated construction systems will be highly regarded.
