Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to work on diverse projects in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
* Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
* Build and install frameworks, partitions, floors, and other wooden structures
* Install doors, windows, cabinetry, and other fixtures
* Inspect and maintain tools and equipment
* Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes and safety regulations
* Collaborate with other tradespeople and team members on-site

Requirements

* NZQA Level 4 Carpentry qualification OR a minimum of 2 years of relevant carpentry experience
* Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
* Good physical fitness and ability to work at heights
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Full New Zealand driver's license (preferred)
* Current Site Safe Passport or willingness to obtain one

Employment Details

* Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week, maximum 45 hours per week
